CA-D Controlled Parking Zone Review
Overview
Camden Council wants to know if you think the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) hours in your zone (CA-D, Kings Cross Area and Holborn) should change.
Why are we consulting?
In June 2017, Islington extended its CPZ hours of operation in Zone C to 24 hours, Monday - Saturday and 00:00 – 06:00 on Sunday. An increase in the hours of operation of a neighbouring CPZ is considered as a material change to trigger a CPZ review; in line with this, we are reviewing CA-D as it shares a border with Islington’s Zone C. Whilst it is recognised that the CPZ boundary between each zone is only a short stretch, as shown in plan A please click HERE to view the plan. If, we are reviewing the entire zone as we do not undertake street by street changes to parking restrictions. The reason for this is to avoid having a complicated CPZ system which would be difficult for motorists to understand and for us to enforce.
In this consultation we are seeking your views about making changes to the hours of control of resident permit holder and shared use bays only and leaving the hours of control on single yellow lines and paid for parking bayspay and display as they are. This means that if any changes are made to permit holder and shared use bays, parking without a permit will still be allowed in paid for parking bays and single yellow lines after 6:30pm on weekdays, after 1:30pm on Saturday and all day on Sunday.
