Overview
Air pollution has serious health impacts, and reducing air pollution is a key priority for Camden. In Camden the main pollutants of concern are Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and Particulate Matter (PM10), these mainly come from road transport and gas boilers, but also from rail, construction, and small industry.
Camden is an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) because of the high levels of NO2 and PM10. Being an AQMA means we must monitor and reduce pollution in the borough, and this must be managed through an Action Plan. The Action Plan must be updated every three years, and attached is Camden’s draft of a new Clean Air Action Plan.
