PUBLIC CONSULTATION

Proposed Minor Parking Amendments – Lancaster Grove (Belsize Ward)

The Council is writing to seek your views on our proposals to modify the existing dedicated disabled bay (142) located outside 6 Lancaster Grove. This follows a request received by the Council from a local resident to amend the bay, as it currently does not accommodate the vehicle that the permit holder for this bay owns. In order for the permit holder to access the bay safely, the following options are being proposed:

1.     Option A – extend the existing 6.6metre dedicated disabled bay by 1.4metres creating a new 8 metre dedicated disabled bay. This would result in reducing the length of the adjacent residents’ parking bay 1.4 metres.

2.     Option B – relocate the existing dedicated disabled bay from its existing location to outside 2 Lancaster Grove and create a new 8 metre dedicated disabled bay. The existing dedicated disabled bay outside 6 Lancaster Grove will be converted into a residents’ parking bay. Relocating the bay here would enable the permit holder to use the  disabled parking bay, in the manner intended when permission was granted originally.

The above proposals would result in the overall reduction in residents’ only parkin by 1.4metres. The proposals have been illustrated in further detail below on the plans included with this consultation letter.
