Recycling, rubbish and street cleaning services in Camden

Overview

We want Camden residents to tell us what you think about recycling, rubbish and street cleaning services in the borough and how you feel they could be improved to make sure Camden is a green, clean and sustainable place.

We provide a variety of waste management services in Camden, including recycling, rubbish and food waste collections, and street cleaning.

As well as these key services, garden waste and bulky items can also be collected for a fee, with free or discounted collections for residents who are aged over 65 or receive 100% Council Tax Support. Streets are cleared of leaves in the autumn and gritted in the winter, and every year there are local Christmas tree collection points for these to be recycled.

We’re also tough on people who disrupt our streets with fly-tipping, and we make sure council services are responsive in keeping our streets clean.

Over the past few years, we’ve worked closely with Veolia, Camden’s waste management and street cleaning partner, to introduce and test out new ideas. These include reporting fly-tipping, graffiti and other street cleaning issues via our Love Clean Streets app and trialling bins for flats above shops.

We are also working with our communities and local businesses to trial new ways to increase recycling and improve the cleanliness of our streets. This is all part of our ongoing efforts to be a low waste borough where we’re all working together to tackle the climate emergency.

Please take part in this survey to let us know what you think about your recycling, rubbish and street cleaning services and what’s important to keep your local environment clean.

Please also share how you think we can work together to tackle existing issues or things we could consider doing differently.

The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete. We will work together with Veolia to see what we can change or introduce, and we’ll keep you updated on it.

If you need this survey in another format such as Easy Read or large print, translated into another language or a paper copy of the survey, or you would like to request an interpreter, please email street.environment@camden.gov.uk or call 020 7974 4444.

We have information on the survey in British Sign Language (BSL) and a video of the questions in BSL
