Camden SAPB Annual Report 2014/15

Closed 31 Mar 2016

Opened 1 Nov 2015

Overview

Camden Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board (SAPB) is a group of statutory, voluntary and independent organisations working together to stop abuse of vulnerable adults.  The SAPB coordinates how agencies across the borough work together in order to help and protect adults who may be at risk of harm.

The SAPB has published its story of what it has done to help and protect adults in Camden over the past 12 months.  We are required by law, under the Care Act 2014, to produce an annual report each year.

The SAPB annual report 2014/15 aims to tell you our main achievements and how we have done in delivering the promises we made in our safeguarding strategy, our areas for development and our plans for next year.

Case study examples are provided throughout the report to illustrate how we have tackled abuse, promoted wellbeing and helped people to stay safe.

You can download a copy of the annual report from www.camden.gov.uk/asg.  Click on section 3 (publications and information) and scroll to the bottom of the page.

Why your views matter

We want people who have used safeguarding services - either to get help themselves or to protect a friend or family member - to have choice and control over their support, get involved in the decisions we make and shape the things we do in the future.

We want to make safeguarding personal - putting people who use our services at the heart of everything we do.  This means we want to help people to recover from abuse and neglect, and to identify and obtain the support they need to live safe and independent lives for as long as possible.

With this in mind, we want to know what you think of this annual report in order to make sure next year's report is informative and helpful.  This is your opportunity to tell us what you liked or disliked in this year's annual report, what is important to you, and what information you would like to see in the report in the future.

This consultation also invites expressions of interest from residents who would like to join our Safeguarding Engagement Group and get more involved in shaping how people are supported to stay safe in Camden.

What will happen next?

The information will be used by the working group in April 2016 to shape the look, feel and content of the next annual report.

If you have provided contact details and expressed interest in getting involved in the Safeguarding Engagement Group we may contact you in 2016.
