Sheltered Housing Allocation Points Survey
Overview
YOUR VIEWS ABOUT SHELTERED HOUSING
Camden residents over 65 years can rent sheltered housing either from the council or a housing association. Sheltered housing provides a supportive environment for older vulnerable and disabled people in the community.
Residents can stay independent whilst benefiting from support and security. Sheltered housing schemes consist of self-contained unfurnished flats. Each has a scheme manager and a 24-hour monitored community alarm service.
Why your views matter
Camden Council wants to ensure that we are making the best use of our housing stock whilst meeting the needs of our ageing population. We are therefore conducting a review of the way we allocate our sheltered housing in order to reflect the Council’s objectives around supporting older people living in the borough.
We would very much appreciate you helping us with the review by completing this survey.
What happens next
After the consultation closes we will analyse the feedback and revise the allocation scheme. The Cabinet Member for Housing will sign off the revised scheme ready to relaunch in early 2018.
We will let you know about the changes made to the allocation scheme as a result of the consultation in Housing Newsletter and on the Council's website.
