Women's safety on our streets

Closed 27 Jan 2023

Overview

We want Camden to be a safe, strong and equal place for everyone.

All women in Camden have the right to feel safe. Sadly, though, we know there are too many women who don’t feel safe when they’re out and about on our streets and in our public spaces, and many who have been victims of violence, assault, harassment, or inappropriate behaviour.

We would like to hear the experiences of all women and girls in Camden to understand how safe you feel living, working and travelling around our borough. Understanding your experiences will help us to work out the right steps to improve the safety of all women and girls in Camden.

Our Community Safety team at Camden Council are carrying out this survey. It's completely confidential and takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Please remember to leave your email address if you are happy for us to contact you to provide survey feedback. If you provide us with your email address, we may also contact you to discuss answers in more detail.

This survey is also available in Easy Read format. Please contact heidi.lawrance@camden.gov.uk for a copy.

Trigger / content warning: In order for us to understand and respond to the issue, there are some questions in this survey around whether participants have experienced harassment or assault on our streets. This may be triggering. If you have experienced any harassment or assault in Camden, you are not alone and we are here to support you. If you would like to speak to someone, please contact Victim Support on 0808 168 9111. More information can be found on the Victim Support Website

The questions below are specifically about how safe women feel on Camden's streets. There is no place for any form of violence or abuse in Camden, and if you are experiencing domestic abuse of any form, or you’re worried about someone else’s relationship, please know you are not alone. There is support available from Camden Safety Net. You can get in touch with them on 020 7974 2526 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm), by emailing camdensafetynet@camden.gov.uk or by visiting camden.gov.uk/domestic-violence. In an emergency always call 999.
