Article 4 Directions for Financial and Professional Services, Launderettes, and Light Industrial Uses

Overview

The Council has recently made three non-immediate Article 4 Directions. The three Article 4 Directions remove permitted development rights for:

• Shops to financial and professional services (A1 to A2),
• Light industrial use to dwellinghouses (B1c to C3), and
• Launderettes to dwellinghouses (Sui Generis to C3).

Each of the directions applies to land as shown edged red on the plans attached to the relevant direction, available for download in the link provided. The Article 4 Directions were made on 11 May 2017. The Council proposes that the Directions will come into force on 1 June 2018.

The Directions and their respective plans are also available for view at 5 Pancras Square Library, London, N1C 4AG, from Monday - Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm.

The notification period is currently underway for these Article 4 Directions. Representations in respect of one or more of the Directions may be made to the Council by email to: planningpolicy@camden.gov.uk or by post to: Strategic Planning and Implementation, Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, London, WC1H 9JE, from 18 May 2017 until 15 June 2017 (inclusive). Any representations must be received by the Council by 5:00pm on 15 June 2017 and include a full name and postal address.
