Brunswick Square Gardens park improvements

Overview

High numbers of pedestrians pass through Brunswick Square Gardens each day, all year round. This has an impact on the aesthetics of the gardens and results in unsightly desire lines formed by pedestrians making a short cut through the square.

Camden is seeking to inform park users and stakeholders of the planned improvements and inviting comments on the proposed design solutions.

You are invited to share your comments on the proposals using this online survey. Please keep in mind that the solutions must work within the current layout of the gardens.

Why your views matter

Camden is working in consultation with the Friends of Brunswick Square and key stakeholders to design and implement improvements to Brunswick Square Gardens.

The Council has appointed Wynne-Williams Associates, landscape architects to design solutions for directing foot traffic through the gardens within the current layout of entrances and pathways, whilst enhancing the aesthetics of the gardens and the experience of park users.

The project aims to meet the needs and aspirations of park users and to fully realise the potential of this heritage square that features in the Open Garden Squares Weekend, Chelsea Fringe and other high profile festivals and events. Planned improvements include a planting scheme, enhancements to park entrances and desire-lines, new information boards and a range of other improvements.

What happens next

Comments on the proposals will be collated and will inform the final design solution. Works to implement the improvements to the gardens will be undertaken in early Spring 2015.
