Holborn Vision and Urban Strategy area of focus

Why your views matter

Holborn is an important growth area in the heart of Central London.  The area includes a mixed community of residents side-by-side with major businesses and institutions.  Holborn also has a thriving cultural scene and some of London's most iconic historic architecture attracting visitors year-round.

Holborn is going through a time of significant development and change.  This is a result of Holborn's changing economy that has seen some major businesses choose to locate and invest into the area.  Holborn is a key destination that links the core of the West End to the City of London that is capable of supporting London's competitive status.  There is a significant opportunity to co-ordinate this period of change and harness the benefits for Holborn's communities.

A Vision and Urban Strategy for Holborn can help to capture these opportunities by setting out guidance to help coordinate development and investment in the area.

We are consulting on the draft Holborn Vision and Urban Strategy document to ensure that everyone with an interest in Holborn has a say for the future of the area.  All of the feedback gathered will be used towards the final Vision and Urban Strategy document, which the Council intends to adopt as a Supplementary Planning Document.  The document will be a key tool in helping us shape the future of Holborn.

What happens next

The views expressed in the consultation will be published in a report and available on our website at www.camden.gov/kentishtownframework.

We will look at the views and develop a final draft of the framework on the basis of what you have told us.  The final draft of the framework will be consulted upon again and be considered by the Council's Members for adoption as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
