Fortune Green and West Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan

Overview

Fortune Green and West Hampstead (FGWH) Neighbourhood Forum have now submitted the final version of their Neighbourhood Plan to the Council for public consultation in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012.

Why your views matter

A Neighbourhood Plan is a statutory planning document setting out planning policies for the development and use of land in the area. The FGWH Neighbourhood Plan sets out a range of policies and allocations and proposes to designate 15 Local Green Spaces.

If the neighbourhood plan meets the statutory tests and is passed at a local referendum it will be used by the Council, alongside its own plans, in determining planning applications in the neighbourhood area.

The council is now seeking views and comments on the Fortune Green and West Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan from residents and other interested stakeholders.

What happens next?

Once the consultation has finished, the Council will summarise the responses and submit them and the neighbourhood plan and related documents to an independent examiner.  The examiner will assess whether the plan meets the statutory requirements.   If the plan passes the examination, a referendum will be organised to give the community the final say on whether the plan is to be used in determining planning applications in the area.

You can request to be notified of Camden’s decision to adopt the plan once an examination and referendum has taken place.
