Holborn Vision
Overview
Having paused the work on the Holborn Vision due to the impact of the pandemic, we think that now is the time to focus on Holborn again.
The area has undergone significant change over the last 5 years. This includes changes in working patterns and the opening of the Elizabeth Line Stations at Tottenham Court Road and Farringdon.
Holborn is a mix of neighbourhoods that support a wide range of uses from its thriving commercial sectors, flourishing culture and vibrant residential communities. The Holborn vision has been developed to respond to this variety by setting out objectives for the Vision and proposing a character area approach informed by the Conservation Area Appraisals. We think that this gives us the opportunity to address the balance of needs between residents and businesses whilst ensuring the vitality and diversity of the area.
It will provide a framework to guide development and investment in the area. It is intended to be adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document to Camden’s Local plan.

What happens next
We will be consulting on the draft Holborn Vision in February/March 2024. Following a review and analysis of the engagement responses we will produce a consultation summary in the summer.
We will develop the final draft of the Holborn Vision with a view to adoption as a Supplementary Planning Document in autumn 2024.
