Kentish Town Neighbourhood Plan

Overview

Kentish Town Neighbourhood Forum has submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to the Council for public consultation in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012.

The Council is consulting residents and interested stakeholders on this proposed Plan.

Why your views matter

A Neighbourhood Plan is a statutory planning document setting out planning policies for the development and use of land in the area. If the neighbourhood plan meets the statutory tests and is passed at a local referendum it will be used by the Council, alongside its own adopted planning documents, in determining planning applications in the neighbourhood area.

The Plan sets out a range of policies on matters including design quality, green and open spaces, enhancing Kentish Town Road and community engagement. There are also a number of policies relating to individual areas and sites in Kentish Town.

The Council is now seeking views and comments on the Neighbourhood Plan from residents and local stakeholders.

What happens next

What happens next?

Once the consultation has finished, the Council will summarise the responses and submit them and the neighbourhood plan and related documents to an independent examiner.  The examiner will assess whether the plan meets the statutory requirements.  If the plan passes the examination, a referendum will be organised to give the community the final say on whether the plan is to be used in determining planning applications in the area.
