Why your views matter

Our Licensing Policy sets out, for residents and licensees, the expectations that the Council and Police have for those involved in the following activities:

  • retail sale of alcohol
  • supply of alcohol by a club
  • regulated entertainment (music, dance, films and plays, indoor sports, boxing ands wrestling)
  • sale of hot food and drink between 11pm and 5am

We are proposing a change of our current licensing policy so that we extend the boundary of the Special Policy Area (SPA) in the Holborn and Covent Garden ward known as Seven Dials.

In SPAs we can automatically refuse to grant new licences, new club premises certificates and premises that apply to increase their capacity if we receive the appropriate evidence from a responsible authority or an interested party.

This is your opportunity to give your views regarding the proposal.
