Camden's revised Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) 2015

Closed 20 Jan 2016

Opened 28 Oct 2015

Overview

Our Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how we will involve local people, local businesses and other key organisations and stakeholders when we prepare our planning policies and consider planning applications.

The SCI sets out:
•what we involve the community on;
•when we will involve the community;
•how we will involve the community; and
•who we will involve.

The proposed key changes to the SCI are

•changes to planning policy - introduction of the local plan and neighbourhood planning;
•use of site notices in place of neighbour notification letters;
•use of new and improved e-alerts and Camden Account; and a
•new map based display of planning applications received in the last 7 days.

Why are we consulting?

The existing SCI (July 2011) is being updated as a result of changes to the planning system and proposed changes to how we consult on the planning applications in light of the current financial challenges.

We want to know what you think about how we we will consult you about planning policies and planning applications in the future.

What happens next

After the consultation, we will collate and analyse the responses and then report the results and any proposed changes to the SCI to the Cabinet Member.

We are aiming to adopt the updated SCI in April 2016.
