1415-189: Adult Lifestyle and Health Improvement Programme – Market Engagement

Closed 30 Jan 2015

Opened 5 Jan 2015

Overview

Camden and Islington Councils are reviewing their current Public Health adult lifestyle services, and are seeking the views of potential providers.  This is a market consultation.  It is not a formal invitation to tender.

The Councils are considering options for the procurement of some Adult lifestyle services.  The services currently being reviewed are listed below and are subject to change:

  • Smoking Cessation
  • Weight Management
  • Physical Activity
  • Give it a Go (GIAG) scheme - currently offers free gym/leisure centre use for Camden residents who are physically inactive, and we are exploring the expansion of this into Islington. The service aims to encourage and support residents to change behaviour and develop an exercise habit for their long-term health and wellbeing, particularly people from areas of high deprivation.
  • Community NHS Health Checks and outreach
  • Single Point of Access - the Councils are considering a more integrated adult health improvement service offer that addresses multiple needs/risk factors and targets those with greatest need, through a Single Point of Access (SPA). In addition, further options of outreach, follow-up and behaviour change are being considered. It is a possibility that they will be encompassed within the SPA.
