Overview

We are evaluating our current Camden Advice Partnership contract and looking ahead to develop the most appropriate model for advice services in the Borough.

We are aware that many front facing staff play an important role in supporting residents with provision of information and advice, or by signposting and we are keen to hear about your experiences.

Background - Camden Advice Partnership (CAP) Providers, include Camden Council, Age UK Camden, Citizen Advice Bureau, Camden Community Law Centre and Mary Ward Legal Centre.

CAP Service Outcomes:

  • Reduced poverty in Camden as incomes are maximised.
  • Users will acquire a better understanding of their rights and entitlement
  • More Camden residents secure their rights and entitlements
  • Users report an increase in their general wellbeing

The CAP comprises of four external providers that hold contracts with the Council to deliver welfare advice:

  • Camden Citizen Advice Bureau – general help
  • Age UK Camden – general help: older people
  • Camden Community Law Centre – specialist help: employment and immigration
  • Mary Ward Legal Centre – specialist help: housing welfare; and debt & money

Advice around Disability has been shared amongst the above providers following the closure of DISC

Other community groups including Hopscotch Asian Women’s Centre, Somali Cultural Centre, Kosmos, Chinese Community Centre and London Irish Centre, offer formal advice
