Overview

Join the Euston Housing Community Forum

Be at the heart of discussions about housing development in Euston

Register your interest to take part in three sessions between November and January, to develop guiding principles for future housebuilding in the Euston area.

Why?

Nobody knows Euston better than the people who live here. That’s why we want to hear from you.

Communities in and around Euston have long felt the impacts of the housing crisis. As of December 2023, almost 10% of Camden households were living in overcrowded conditions. Communities have also endured years of uncertainty from the construction of HS2.

Now, there’s a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build a better future for Euston. Not just as a transport hub, but an investment in much needed homes (including affordable), and the facilities needed to support them.

Camden Council is working with the Euston Housing Delivery Group, set up by the Ministry of Housing, Local Government and Communities (MHCLG), to help deliver much needed new (including affordable) homes in the area.

By joining the Euston Housing Community Forum, you’ll have the unique opportunity to join a diverse group of residents to create a framework that will shape future housing in the Euston area.

What will the sessions involve?

This Autumn, Old Diorama Arts Centre and other local organisations will run a series of workshops and events to find out more about your priorities for future housing development in the Euston area. To find out more, and to be a part of these, see -www.olddiorama.com/housing

The Euston Housing Community Forum will hear from development professionals and explore the research findings, working alongside an independent facilitator to condense insights into a set of principles to guide future housebuilding.

Through the sessions, you will be able to find out more about some of the processes, policies and constraints the council faces which shape new housing development. Working with other residents, you will have the opportunity to use what you learn, and experience of living in the area, to produce a framework for how new housing can be developed with local residents at its heart.

When is it?

The Euston Housing Community Forums will take place across three dates (provisionally booked for):

  • Saturday 22 November (10am – 4pm)

  • Saturday 6 December (10am – 4pm)

  • Saturday 17 January (10am – 1pm)

The sessions are all interlinked to allow for a deeper discussion. We are asking for members to attend all three sessions - those who can, will be prioritised.

Selecting participants

If you are a resident, aged 16 or over, living in Euston, you can register your interest to join the Euston Housing Community Forum.

The purple boundary below shows the area in which we will be recruiting for the forum. To define the ‘Euston Area’, we have extended the Euston Area Plan boundary (the red line) by 150m.

Up to 30 participants will be selected from the pool of registrations, using population data to ensure there is a broadly representative and diverse group. We will be working with the Sortition Foundation to ensure that recruitment to the forum is representative of the local community.

We want to hear from a wide range of people—whether you’ve been involved before or not. You don’t need any specialist knowledge, just a willingness to listen, learn and work together.

We are looking for the group to be as representative as possible, and will try – where able – to match the cohort to the profile of the wider Euston area. The profile is outlined below:

  • Age - Different groups will experience regeneration & housing development differently (e.g concerns about displacement, opportunities, or accessibility)
  • Gender - Different genders will experience housing, public spaces & neighbourhoods differently
  • Ethnicity - Regeneration often disproportionately affects communities of colour or migrants, and their voices can be underrepresented.
  • Disability - Physical regeneration often ignores access and inclusion issues.
  • Address - This will ensure that there is a geographical representation
  • Housing tenure - People in different housing tenures often have vastly different experiences and stakes in regeneration decisions.
  • Level of community involvement - Understanding the everyday perspectives and perceptions of engagement around housing

Participants will be compensated for the time they attend the sessions. Lunch will also be provided.

Please register your interest by 17th October 2025.
