Camden Future Libraries – Formal Consultation

The future libraries formal consultation is now closed. The consultation ran for 12 weeks from Wednesday 15 July until 5pm on Tuesday 6 October 2015.

As part of the financial challenge, we consulted on how we might save £800,000 from the service’s current budget of £4.5m. Although we have less money, we are aiming to invest £3.7m to create a modern library service that supports both existing and future customers and best meets the needs of Camden residents.

Over 2300 people responded to the formal consultation including 300 children and young people. Thank you to everyone who took part. Findings from the survey, along with independent analysis from University College London (UCL) are available via the link below.

Camden’s Cabinet agreed a new library strategy on 16 December 2015 which we plan to start to implement from September 2016. Further details on this new strategy can be found in the December 2015 Cabinet report available below.
