Camden Draft Local Plan Consultation

Closed 17 Apr 2015

Opened 16 Feb 2015

Overview

Camden Council is reviewing its main planning policies and is now consulting on a draft ‘Local Plan’. This takes into account feedback from initial engagement on our policies, the outcome of a series of evidence studies and national policy and legislation.

When finalised, the Local Plan will replace our current Core Strategy and Camden Development Policies documents as the basis for planning decisions and future development in the borough.

The draft Local Plan and associated documents can be viewed on the Council’s website at www.camden.gov.uk/localplan.  We have also prepared a short summary document and individual topic papers which are available on the web page and provide further detail on specific issues.

What happens next

The review of our planning policy documents has to follow a statutory procedure.  Once we have gathered views on the draft we will produce an updated version of the Local Plan for further consultation later in 2015.  We will then submit the Local Plan for a public examination held by a Planning Inspector.
