Sensory needs and disability matters

Closes 31 Jul 2018

Opened 16 Jul 2015

Overview

  • Are you someone who uses care and support services in Camden?
  • Do you look after someone who needs care and support?
  • Are you disabled or have a long term mental or physical health problem?
  • Are you D/deaf or hard of hearing or a person who has a sight impairment?

If you are any of the above and would like to get involved in services that affect your every day life you can come along to one of the council's sensory needs and disability forums.

The sensory needs and disability forums provide regular opportunities for users of adult social care services, their carers (family members and friends) and supporters to meet with councillors, service planners and providers to discuss local services.

Come along to the Learning Disabilities Forum on 19 August - details are in the Related Documents below.

Sensory needs and disabilities forums are open to service users, carers and advocates, councillors, relevant staff from partner organisations and council officers.

People can attend any of the forums, or even more than one, particularly when issues overlap. For example, someone who is physically disabled and has a visual impairment may wish to take part in two forums; someone caring for a relative who has learning difficulties as well as a physical disability might wish to attend both of these forums.

People can bring their own advocates to meetings to help them take part or represent their views.

Organisations are welcome to attend forums where appropriate and take part.

If you need help to attend the meeting, please phone Giovanni on 02 07 97 45 51 9  before Friday 14 August 2015.
