Proposed disabled bay outside 5 Grafton Road
Overview
The council propose to provide a new dedicated disabled bay outside No.5 Grafton Road. This change will cause the existing resident permit holder bay to move further north, where double yellow lines are currently. This will ensure no resident permit holder bays are lost.
These proposals follow a request from a resident in Prince of Wales Road who has been assessed by an independent occupational therapist and has met our criteria for a dedicated disabled bay. Dedicated disabled parking bays are allocated to residents who have demonstrated a need to park close to their home, and where existing bays are often occupied and less accessible.
Whilst Camden Council understand that it is sometimes difficult for non-disabled residents to park their cars around Grafton Road, it can be even more challenging for those with disabilities. It is therefore important to provide this dedicated disabled bay to help the resident to live an independent and active life in the local community.
A sketch of the proposal can be found in the linked consultation letter.
