Torrington Place / Tavistock Place Corridor: Proposed Changes

Closed 6 Jan 2019

Opened 13 Nov 2018

Overview

STOP PRESS: Consultation now extended till midnight Sunday 6th January!

Camden Council wants to hear your views on the direction of traffic flow for motor vehicles along Torrington Place and Tavistock Place. We also want to know what you think of further improvements that we could make along these streets subject to funding being available.

Before completing the questionnaire, we urge you to look at the Torrington / Tavistock Consultation Leaflet understand the proposed changes, and make an informed decision.

Please go to the website Torrington / Tavistock Consultation for more detailed information on the proposed changes, background of the project and predicted project impacts.

Why your views matter

Motor traffic currently travels in an eastbound direction along the Torrington / Tavistock Corridor, between Gower Street (to the west) and Judd Street / Hunter Street (to the east).

This consultation asks whether people have a preference for motor traffic to be eastbound or westbound along the corridor.

Both options retain the separate cycle lanes and both can accommodate the potential additional changes to the cycling facilities, footway widening, and waiting and loading arrangements, for which are also seeking your views.

What happens next

This consultation is now closed.  Thank you for taking the time to complete this questionnaire. If you require any additional information or would like further explanation, please email  TransportConsultations@camden.gov.uk or ring 020 7974 6516

The Council's assessment of the westbound-only motor traffic option, together with the results of this consultation, will be brought back to Cabinet, in April 2019 or as soon as practicable thereafter. The Cabinet  will then decide whether the west-bound-only or eastbound-only option should be the preferred arrangement for the corridor going forward. They will also decide on the additional proposed changes: for loading, footway widening and cycling facilities.

.Please note, that in accordance with the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any questionnaires or correspondence received by the Council as part of this consultation could be made available for public inspection but sensitive or identifying information, such as names and addresses would be redacted. A summary of the report following the consultation will also be made available on the Council’s website.
